Carnations

At my graduation ceremony in May, my boyfriend gave me a bouquet of carnations. It was the first time I got a bouquet, so it was very special to me.

Mostly this was an experiment about coloring and blending with my Tombow dual pen markers. The most color-blended parts were her skin tone, and her fingernails. I’m pretty happy with the results; I would try using them more in my art.

Another part of this experiment was to try inking outlines by brush again. Inking by brush always made more sense to me than inking by pen nibs- there’s more variety in width, and I feel like I have more finesse with it.

Right now, I’m trying to find a day job. It would be nice if it was art-related, but anything will do. I hope to earn money to help further my art career, i.e. fund nice promo mailers to send to art directors, or nice business cards to hand out to people.
